Metamorphoses is the presentation of a series of classical myths, condensed in varying degrees. Magic and mystery are mandatory elements for this production. We incorporated a pool into the scenic design, which created many opportunities and problems for blocking, for scenery, and for lighting. The set itself is essentially a simple ritualistic arrangement. The pool provided endless opportunites to reflect light off of the water onto the cyclorama and onto the actors. We used moving light fixtures as well here, which provided a lot of freedom for color, textures, and movement.
