These floating squares worked beautifully for the show.    Hat-tip to my friend Richard Finkelstein.  Richard’s design for Sweet Charity employed a similar device that I admired when I saw it.  I promptly informed him I intended to borrow it, and transform it in my own way.

Quixote kneels before the Knight of the Mirrors. His face is projected on the floating stone bricks, as if in a shattered mirror, as he pleads to the knight. The images of his face panned and shifted as if seen in fractured mirrors.

A combination of stars and foliage are proiected, as if the night sky is seen through trees. These were projected on the floating bricks of the dungeon wall, among the flickering torches.
